We have already tried this homemade paint recipe and I have written about that. I wanted to try the same recipe to create a similar art as my daughter enjoyed so much last time! This homemade paint recipe requires only 2 ingredients other than water. The paint creates a glossy effect and my daughter loved it.

Materials needed:
1. Sugar
3. Black crayon
4. Water
5. Q-tips
Method:
1. Mix 4 tea spoon of sugar with 4 tea spoon of water. Last time we used white sugar and this time we used organic brown sugar and both created similar paint.
2. Keep the sugar and water mixture in the stove for few minutes till the sugar completely dissolves in the water. It took 2 minutes for us. I kept the flame very low.
3. Let the mixture cool. Split the mixture to separate bowls and add the food coloring. Mix well. Now the paint is ready!
Use food coloring generously to get bright colors. We added 2 to 3 drops of each color.
We need a very little paint. We used my daughter’s play pots as our containers. We had leftovers after our painting.
4. Draw a picture with black crayon. We chose to draw a group of flowers. We did a similar picture last time too.
5. Start coloring the picture with the homemade paint using q-tips. The paint was little watery but the crayon hold the paint.
6. Continue painting the entire picture. Voila! The beautiful painting is done!
My daughter painted the entire paper. It took nearly 36 hours to dry completely. Once dry, I could see few crystals of sugar like a glitter!
Last time we had framed our picture and kept for few months! It did not loose color nor attract ants 🙂
