Simple toddler craft ideas

Toddler printed flowers

My toddler loves printing. I got the inspiration of this project from Pop out flowers from No time for flashcards. They had colored the flowers but we used for printing.
Materials needed:

1. Toilet paper roll
2. Washable tempera paint
3. White paper
4. Bottle cap
Cut the paper roll into  pieces. Make vertical slits at one end and fan them out to make petals.

Invite the toddler to dip the petal side in the paint and press it on the paper.

My daughter pressed the toilet rolls hard enough to make them loose their circular shape. Hence we started making diamond shaped flowers.

We used an empty water bottle cap to make the center of the flower. I asked my daughter to dip the bottle cap on the yellow paint and press on the middle of the flower.

The colored toilet rolls itself looked beautiful. They looked more like a flower than the printed version.

I encouraged my toddler to paint the inside portion of the tube with yellow paint. She did for one flower but lost interest.

This activity was easy for my toddler and she thoroughly enjoyed!
