Back to school : Crepe paper flower pencil topper

We are getting ready for School. We made crepe paper flower pencil topper. It is so simple to make and it is beautiful!

Materials needed :

1. Crepe paper

2. Pencil

3. Glue

4. Scissors

Method:

1. Take 10 to 15  inches of crepe paper.

2. Fold them three to four times.

3. Make fringes at one end. Cut each fringe to a petal shape (inverted V shape). The petal shape need not be perfect. You can see below how my nine year old has unevenly cut. But it did not affect our flowers.

 

4. Gluing the uncut crepe paper on the pencil. Hold the pencil with the less dominant hand and slowly wrap the paper around the pencil with the dominant hand. The paper should be rolled loosely, gathering and holding tight at the bottom.

Crepe paper flower topper is done!

The procedure is very simple and my nine year old made them easily.
