Paper Butterfly

Paper Butterfly

Hi All,
We made this paper butterfly for the party decoration when my younger one turned two. It is so simple that myself and my 7 year old completed few of them in one hour.
What you need :
1. Color paper – We used magazine paper but construction or origami paper also will do
2. Scissors
3. Glue
Sorry for the blurry pictures. The light was little low.
Step 1Fold the paper in half. Again fold into a square.
Step 2 : Cut along the diagonal.
Step 3: Open the paper. You have a diamond shaped paper now. We are going to do accordion folding. Start at one of the corners. Fold inwards and crease the folding.
Step 4:  Turn the paper backwards so that the first fold is facing the surface. Fold the folded edge up and align the new edge with the original edge. Crease the folding. While reading, it seems to be difficult. But it is very easy to do.
Step 5: Do the folding for the entire diamond and crease along the way.
Step 6 : We need two  folded paper for one butterfly. Take another paper and repeat the steps from Step 1 to Step 5. Please make sure that the second paper is slightly smaller than the first one.
Step 7 :  Align both the papers one after the other and glue it in the middle. We pasted all the folding Once the glue is dried, stretch the folding.
You are done with the Butterfly!
As I mentioned it is a very simple project that can be done easily by kids.
Happy folding!
