Valentine's day craft ideas

Simple colored heart

After we had fun doodling hearts, my eight year old wanted to create something with coloring. This time we created a very simple colored heart. Instead of coloring the heart with single color, we split the heart and colored each portion with different color. It created a beautiful colored heart!

Materials needed :

1. Copier paper

2. Pencil

3. Crayons in different colors

Method  :

1. We drew a heart in the middle of the paper with pencil

2. Drew lines from one side of the paper to another dividing the heart into different portions. We had drawn around ten lines.

3.  Colored each portion with crayons. I felt markers would have produced very colorful heart. It is been ages since we used crayons. So I insisted using crayons.

It is a very simple coloring activity. But drawing lines, using different colors kept my daughter’s interest in the activity.
