Milk jug craft ideas

Milk jug Earth day wreath

What could be a perfect project rather than a recycled one to create a wreath for Earth day?

My daughter thoroughly enjoyed creating the milk jug flower wreath. This time when I was thinking to create a wreath for Earth day, she wanted one from milk jug. It is very simple to do and fun for all ages.

Materials needed :

1. Plastic milk jug

2. Paper plate

3. Acrylic paint

4. Paint brushes

5. Knife – to cut out circles from the jug

6. Scissors – to make proper circles

7. Tacky glue

Method :

1. Using a bottle lid as template, I cut out circles from the plastic milk jug. I cut out uneven circles from the jug with a knife and my daughter used scissors to make them proper.

2. Painted the circles with blue acrylic paint. We let them dry.

3. Placed green dots randomly on the circle with acrylic paint. We let the circles dry again.
4. Cut out the center portion of the paper plate. Glued the “Earth” circles on the paper with tacky glue. The beautiful Earth day wreath is done!
This project took us more than a day because of its dry time. We had to dry after painting with blue and again with green.  But it is very simple to do.
